Maths4Girls
In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.
Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
Q&As will follow to end the session.
Speakers Profile:
Malar Velaigam - Director at finnCap Ltd. She started his life in corporate finance in South East Asia. Then, she moved to London and continued as a journalist, working as an investment writer - writing investment ideas in tech, media and telco stocks. Having done this for almost 5 years, she truly fell in love with tech, and moved to FT.com, to set up and run a start-up for them - a digital business.
Catriona McGill - Technical Development Manager at Desolenator. Desolenator is a clean technology venture based in central London. They are developing solar-powered desalination & water purification technology. Their company's mission is to provide sustainably-produced water to those who need it most.
Skylar Montgomery Koning- Assistant Vice President - Global Macro Strategy & Asset Allocation at Citi.
