Kickstart scheme Interview
20 Aug 2021

Name: Syntyche Djunga
Job role: Marketing & Admin Assistant
Studied: International Business at university

How did you get the job at F4S ?

My experience at F4S started with the Kickstart Scheme. The Kickstart Scheme is a program that assists young people aged 16-24 in finding work by funding employers.

How was the interview process?

The interview process was very easy going. I immediately felt comfortable and true to myself and experiences and there wasn't much pressure in the interview. After a successful interview process, I began my role as Marketing Admin Assistant in March and have been gaining so much knowledge about marketing ever since.

What made you want to apply for this role?

Marketing has always been a passion of mine. After studying business in both A levels and International Business as a degree, marketing was always the one subject I connected to the most and excelled in. Administration was something I never had an interest in. When looking into the job description of a marketing admin assistant. The role seemed like a challenge which is something I always look for in a role as new skills can always contribute to many other career paths.

What was your experience like when you started the job?

What struck me the most about F4S was how welcoming the team was. I have done a few apprenticeships but have not been welcomed the way I have here at F4S. Each member is extremely helpful, informative and very pleasant to work with. Also, most apprenticeships quickly throw you into the deep end which can be very overwhelming. However, F4S did an amazing job at easing me into the role by educating me on the charity's ethos and the charity's marketing goals before allowing me to dive into work.

Your journey so far

My journey at F4S has been amazing so far. Most of my marketing experience has been in education so the transition between education and the workplace was challenging, but a challenge I needed. Marketing is a lot more than I expected. However, this experience was nothing but necessary for the future career path in marketing.

You mentioned that you did some apprenticeships, tell us about that because a lot of young people are looking at them at the moment?

I feel as though apprenticeships are extremely
