The event was created by Ria Kirby for 300 students at Oasis Academy Don Valley aged Age 6 - 11.
Event description
Inspire our students
"In this session, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.
As part of our Personal Development curriculum and our careers and futures week we are going to be running another careers fair within the primary phase. This is an exciting opportunity to introduce our children to the world of work and start to build their aspirations for what they might want to explore when they leave education. Our plan is to introduce children to our local labour market whilst also broadening their awareness of types of jobs beyond our community.
How can you help?
On Wednesday 30th April 2025 we will be setting up our hall with stalls showcasing different careers, therefore we are asking for volunteers to talk about their current job, for example:
• What does your job look like? What do you do?
• What is good about your job? Job satisfaction?
• What are the challenges in your job?
• How did you become……?
• What advice would you give someone who wants to do this job?
Details:
The fair will run from 9-2.45pm and refreshments will be provided throughout the day as well as lunch. Academy staff will be supervising the children to guide them around the fair as they find out all about the careers. Each career will have its own stall so please bring along any resources to display.
