Event description

Primary School Annual STEM Job Fair

We are holding our annual STEM Fair on Friday 14th March and we are looking for STEM ambassadors to come down to the school and showcase their career/company/resources. Previous companies that have came to our fairs include Rolls Royce, DXC, Thermo Fisher, Network Rail, Centrica and countless others, both household names and local businesses.

We have held the fair twice before, and they have both been successful. Each ambassador gets an area in our gym and dining hall to set up a stall, and children and parents come around the hall area like an expo. The most successful stalls in the past have had some form of activity for the children to engage with, and any free goodies also always go down well with them!

The aim of the fair is to promote STEM as a career path for pupils, showcase local STEM companies and local job opportunities, and for the ambassadors to share with the children how they got into the role. The children from P4-7 also showcase the work they have done in STEM over the year up until March, so the parents come down too. Both fairs have previously had, in total, roughly 350 people present.

We promote the companies and individuals present through our social media channels, and last years fair was covered by the Paisley Daily Express newspaper who gave us a 2 page spread.

If you think you have the availability to help us out with the fair for an afternoon, we would love to hear from you!
