Y11 Mock Interview Day

Hello, Willowfield School is looking for in-person volunteers for a Year 11 Mock Interview Day on Friday 18th October 2024 from 8:40 am.

We are looking for volunteers that have had experience of conducting interviews, that would be able to give constructive feedback to students. Please read about it below and get in touch with any questions.

Aim- We are looking to inspire our students with role models from all sectors, to draw links between learning and the world of work and to support them to make better informed decisions about their futures. We want to give our students the chance to experience an interview with a professional to put them in good practice for interviews in the world of work and further education.

Who- The event is for all 180 Year 11 students, this will be the first time many students have had an interview, it is to give them the experience for the world of work and post-16 educational interviews.

What- We are looking for volunteers that can help the whole day, or for certain periods. You will be given an interview sheet and students will be asked to bring a CV. You will have 15 minutes to interview the student and an additional 5 minutes to give feedback. We are looking to run two sessions per period, with 15 students in each session, depending on the number of volunteers.
The Careers Team will be managing the event; the school day is as follows, with session being held during periods 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8:
Period 1: 8:40 – 9:30
Period 2: 9:30 – 10:20
Period 3: Tutorial Y11, 10:20 – 10:45
Period 3: Break, Y11: 10:45 – 11:10
Period 4: 11:10 – 12:00
Period 5: 12:00 – 12:50
Period 6: 12:50 – 13:40
Period 7: Lunch, Y11: 13:40 – 14:30
Period 8: 14:30 – 15:20

Where- The interviews will be held in person at our school. We are based next to Blackhorse Road tube station. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer parking and there are no public parking spaces available around the school.
