These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.
The event was created by Suzanne Paice for 50 students at Cotham School aged Age 15 - 15.
Year 10 Work Experience week in school events.
For those students who are not out on a physical work experience placement during this week (13th to 17th May) we have collapsed their timetable to invite into school a full week of workshops on particular sectors of work as well as employability skills sessions, virtual work experience and webinars. We hope you might like to join us.
Thursday 16th May. Our timetable is as follows:
08:30 - 08:50 Assembly/Tutor time for registers.
08:50 - 09:45 Period one. Let us know if you can deliver a talk about your area of expertise, a project you have worked on or you would have an activity that the students (with some instruction from you) could do to replicate a task in the work place.
You will have a teacher with you in the room to supervise the students at all times.
We are thinking that you might be one of a small group of visitors who come to this session so if you would prefer to deliver a talk for 10 mins and then answer questions on a table of students alongside other visitors, that too would be fabulous.
Also if there is a preferred time and date during this week, please tell us as we may be able to accommodate.
I look forward to hearing from you with your thoughts,
kind regards
Suzanne Paice
Careers Leader
"In this session, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.
Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now."
