F4S, in partnership with WWF-UK is offering ‘Sustainable Futures: Virtual Work Experience Day’- a free work insight opportunity for students aged 14 - 18.
Empower Young Minds, Shape a Sustainable Future
Students will experience different workplaces and will connect with role models who actively work to make their company more sustainable.
This is the time to offer young people the opportunity to discover more about jobs in the green economy & understand the skills required to enter the industry so they can use what they learn to make decisions about their future career pathways. Students will gain insight from inspiring role models working in sustainability and learn what a typical day really looks & feels like.
Programme Structure
📋 Students will have some preliminary reading about the role model speakers prior to attending the event, and learn about the speakers' career journeys and what motivated them to pursue a career in sustainability.
🌍 A Day in Life of a Sustainability Leader: Students will hear from each speaker and find out what a 'day in the life' looks like through the speakers taking them through their day and giving them a virtual workplace tour. Followed by a Q&A.
Lunch
🔍 Skills Deep Dive: Students will connect with sustainability role models in break-out rooms to engage with them and learn more about how key skills such as problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and more are applied to careers in sustainability.
🧠 Students will be introduced to some of the sustainability skills discussed at the event through a compulsory post-event project which is to be submitted to F4S. Students will be asked to examine a real business task related to sustainability and explore ways to address the issue by putting the skills they learned about in the workshop into practice.
Spaces are limited to ensure there will be engagement between the young people and the speakers.
