Event description

Yr 11 Girls Focused Career Panel - Maths4Girls

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Lady Margaret School will be hosting a career panel for their Year 10s - 13s. The aim is to encourage them to think about their future career path. They are looking for 3 women who studied Maths at Level 3 (core maths, a level, further maths) who can share their career journey.
The event is from 3:45 - 4:45. Within that time, you will have a 15 minutes slot. In that time, you will talk for 5 - 7 minutes about yourselves and how Maths played (and still plays) a role in your career. This would be followed by a Q&A.
We are looking for a mix of speakers. If you did not study Maths at Level 3 but would be willing to talk about how Maths still came in to your career, please do let me know. If you are interested, please message with information on your career.

Things you can include in your talk:
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
