About the teacher and students

The event was created by Clare Buxton for 25 students at Overton Grange School aged Age 13 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students
This event actually starts at 08.30 but I can not choose this time on the interface here.

"In this session, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

This event is for Year 9 students who are making choices about their GCSE options and future careers. We are providing a speed networking event where students talk to as many different representatives of career sectors as possible.

Speakers will be asked to tell a story about their career journey:

You would be talking to groups of up to 10 students on a rotation - they will have questions on a range of topics such as...

  • Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now

  • What inspired them to choose their career path

    • Their failures, as well as successes

  • What their company does and why this is important

  • What they enjoy most about their career

  • Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now."
