Event description

Inspire our students

Create a routes and pathways event to inform and inspire young people considering the vast array of potential careers available to them. This may include showcasing current job opportunities within your local community or explaining the pathways that young people can take to obtain a job within a particular sector i.e. university, college, apprenticeship, or other employability schemes.

Year 9 Employer/Student Speed networking
The purpose of the event is to inspire our Year 9 students with role models from all industry sectors, to draw links between learning and the world of work and to support our students to make better informed decisions about their futures. This is a key transition stage as our students will be choosing their GCSE options in March.
The networking is a carousel style event, small groups of Year 9 pupils spend approximately 8 minutes speaking with a rota of employers asking questions & completing a workbook. At the end of the session students will return to class to reflect as a tutor group on their experiences.
The event is separated into two sessions with 120 students in each session.
