Event description
Inspiring Girls in Mathematics
We are a school that serves a deprived area of the North East. Historically we have struggled to engage and inspire girls in mathematics. We have worked this year to start to add enrichment opportunities to try and boost girls' love of maths. These opportunities have included University speakers and maths picnics!
To celebrate Ava Lovelace day, we could love if the speakers could share the following:
In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.
Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
Q&As will follow to end the session.
