Event description

Maths4Girls

We are an all girls, secondary school (11-16) located in the West Midlands. There are around 800 pupils on roll with a significant proportion affected by socio-economic disadvantage (55% Pupil Premium; 70% English as an Additional Language and 15% Special Educational Needs). My own past experiences of working with Maths 4 Girls have been overwhelmingly positive - these are fantastic opportunities to raise the awareness of and aspirations towards high profile careers and to hear from positive female role models about their own 'mathematical journeys'.

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
