NUSA Careers Fair

Activity aim:
Our Careers Fair aims to build our pupils knowledge of potential pathways available to them and make them aware of what they must achieve to get these opportunities, whilst also strengthening communication, employability skills and rise aspirations. We ask professionals from Nottingham and the surrounding area to be part of this experience, adding their expertise to the day and meeting with our Key Stage 4 and 5 students. We want to inspire our pupils with role models from all sectors, to broaden their horizons, challenge stereotypes and draw links between what they are learning at school and the world of work.

About the day:
Pupils will begin work for the careers fair well in advance of the day, preparing questions and checklists so they get the most out of the experience. Pupils will enter the hall, and visit various stands and displays, meeting you, or representatives from your company and discuss futures, pathways and opportunities that you may have. Visuals, props and uniform really help to bring your job to life for young people so we'd love to see them.

About the audience:
Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA) is in Bilborough, we are an 11-18 School in Nottingham, in an area of high deprivation, with over 50% of our children receiving Free School Meals. Despite this we look to ensure our students are not deprived of exceptional experiences; therefore, we ensure we can provide excellent opportunities for them. We wish to run this activity with all our Year 9 to Year 13 pupils, approximately 500 pupils throughout the duration of the day.

Where and when:
The Careers Fair will take place on Friday 21st April at Nottingham University Samworth Academy, in Bilborough, from 10:00am until 2.15pm. There is parking available at the school and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
