Inspire our students - Employability and the World of Work
In 30 minute talks including a 10 minute Q&A, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire our students to make informed decisions about their future.
Location: University of Nottingham International College (UNIC), Nottingham Science Park, Number One Jesse Boot Avenue, Nottingham, NG7 2RU, or, via Zoom.
Time: An all-day event from 9:30 – 16:00
Audience: 400 - 500 international students of UNIC, studying a range of programmes including Business, Law, Management, Social Sciences, Engineering, Science and others.
The event aims to:
• Give our students the opportunity to hear from you, hear about your journey to where you are now, and, your tips for success.
• Allow you to showcase your company employee brand and what is important to you and your company.
• Encourage the best students to apply for any openings, internships, work experience or otherwise.
• Allow our students to hear directly from you about the skills, backgrounds and knowledge the business world today is looking for.
We would like you to make the talk your own, but we would love to hear about what inspired you to choose your career path, your successes and what didn't work out so well for you, what your company does and why this is important, what you enjoy most about your career and what skills are currently relevant in the job you are doing now.
About us
University of Nottingham International College is a pathway college operated by Kaplan, providing foundation courses for international students wishing to enter the University of Nottingham.
During the students’ programme here in college, we focus on student achievement, experience, and employability skills. We aim to prepare our students not just for degree-level study, but for the working world. We run extra-curricular employability sessions each week to help students gain the skills and knowledge needed for employment, including goal setting, planning, work experience, internships and management, and students produce a CV showcasing their skills. Our students are all eligible to work during their university degree and apply for a graduate visa, allowing them to work in the UK full-time for at least two years after graduation.
We look forward to hearing from you and would be very happy to answer any questions you may have.
