The event was created by Ruqayyah Fombo for 50 students at Oasis Academy Hadley aged Age 15 - 18.

Event description

On 23/11/22 at Oasis Academy Hadley, we will be having a Careers Day for our Y11 & Sixth Form. There will be a HE fair and careers talks.

My name is Ruqayyah. I am the Careers, Work Experience and Enrichment Coordinator at Oasis Academy Hadley.

On Wednesday November the 23rd we will be holding a HE Fair for our students in Year 11 and Sixth Form.

In this session, volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will discuss their career journey. This can include the following:

Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now

What inspired them to choose their career path

Their failures, as well as successes

What their company does and why this is important

What they enjoy most about their career

Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now

Here are some key details about the event:

• Guests will arrive at 9am
• The event will take place on site at: Oasis Academy Hadley, 143 South Street, Enfield, EN3 4PX
• Onsite Parking is not available. The school is served well by buses, national rail services and London overground.
• Career talks will last 30-45mins. They will consist of a talk and Q&A
• You will be expected to give 3 – 4 career talks throughout the day
• Each career talk will be delivered to around thirty five 15-19 year olds
• The day will last from 9am until 2pm
• There will be breaks. Lunch will also be provided by the academy
• Great opportunity to inspire the students to explore different careers and industries
