Event description

Life after CANDI (City and Islington College)

City & Islington Sixth Form College is fully inclusive and part of a large inner-London FE college serving boroughs with very high levels of economic and educational disadvantage. Many of our students will be first in their family to progress to University and will be from non-professional backgrounds. Our students arrive from over 200 different schools and across 30 boroughs of Greater London. Over 50% of our students receive an income assessed bursary and over 20% are eligible for free school meals. Depending on their GCSE profile, students may study up to four subjects in year 12 continuing to three AL subjects in year 13. Our current policy will allow students to sit an AS exam in all subjects. 66% of our students progressed to HE in 2014 and of those 16.9% progressed to a Russell Group University.
