About the teacher and students

The event was created by Se9vqgjjywen3aghe82jem for 50 students at Banbury and Bicester College (Banbury Campus) aged Age 16 - 17.

Event description

Inspire our students by setting goals of attainments at the start of an academic career

Bringing sectors and jobs to life and inspire young people to consider their career options and raise aspirations through offering real insight regarding daily duties of specific jobs in digital sector or talking about a day in the life of a young recruit.

Please include showing real examples and explanations of the specific skills required in the wider digital industry to give valuable insight into young people considering a career option. From experience I know that audience involvement will work best. This could be anything like asking the students to consider "what happens next?" or "how could this been done better?" scenarios, or start of with a list of personal attributes and students to select "top 5" to be compared at the end with your own selection. I have seen the use of a (small marketing give away) gift for best question of the session work really well.

Our students are predominantly male and I have tried working with STEM to entice girls to come into Computing/Technology with very limited success but I do believe that female employer representation is vital to make our students to understand that being professional when working with women is one of the many aspects of personal development.
