About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly. Combined they employ 147+ people.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Philippa Huggins for 25 students at King Arthur's Community School aged Age 14 - 15.

Event description

We are running a Careers Day for Year 10 students. During the day we will be running a careers fair and careers-focussed workshops. Any amount of time offered, greatly received.

We are essentially looking for employers and/or people working in different career sectors to talk about what they do in their jobs and how they got to their current point (ie: the route they took such as an apprenticeship etc.).

They can either do this as a stand in the hall, so they can engage with and speak to students on a 1:1 basis, or as a session for interested students in Year 10 to sign up to. These sessions should be 30 minutes long, unless they are able to offer some kind of activity/workshop, in which case this can be 1 hour long.

The event starts with me meeting Y10 to set them off/set the scene, followed by the careers fair and the sessions running alongside at the same time (people running sessions will be given separate rooms to do this in).

There is no obligation to attend the whole day, any time would be gratefully received.

If volunteers are in over lunch, we will provide a buffet-style lunch for visitors.
