About the teacher and students

The event was created by Ben Plowman for 100 students at Sheffield High School for Girls aged Age 15 - 15.

Event description

Maths4Girls

Hi - I'm trying to promote the value of mathematics to the girls at my school - both as a subject within school and as learning skills needed for many careers in their future. The text from the website below pretty much sums up what I would love your input with. It would be a presentation with the Year 10 girls (age 14/15) for up to an hour.
Regards,
Ben

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
