Event description

Maths in the Real World - Inspiring year 6 students into the benefits of maths!

Year 6 pupils are about to leave primary school and move on to secondary-level education. We would like to run an event to inspire all pupils (including girls) to see what possibilities lie ahead for them. We are really passionate about maths and want to encourage our pupils to see the benefit of loving the subject and using it in later life.

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
