About the teacher and students

The event was created by Katy Borg for 50 students at Sir Roger Manwood's School aged Age 16 - 17.

Event description

Year 12 Careers and Inspiration week. A variety of sessions over the week, please let us know your availability. 18-22nd July

This is a five day event running 930-3pm each day - the aim being the students see and hear from as many different industries/professionals that they can. We have the facilities available if speakers wish to bring presentations or activities, the format can be flexible and would invite you to suggest what works best for you. It could be a talk, a panel talk with colleagues, an employability workshop. You may wish to discuss your pathway or represent your company and talk about school leaver opportunities. The sessions can be a morning or an afternoon and we ask you to let us know the availability you have - we are really flexible.

At this kind of event, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers may cover:

• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now

• What inspired them to choose their career path

• Their failures, as well as successes

• What their company does and why this is important

• What they enjoy most about their career

• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now."
