About the teacher and students

The event was created by Nerys Sandy for 200 students at Thamesview School aged Age 11 - 12.

Event description

Inspire our students with a skills development session aimed at our 11 and 12 year old students. Repeated to different groups throughout the day.

The event is all day and ideally we would like volunteers to deliver a session five times during the day, between 8:30am and 2:55pm, but very grateful for whatever time they can give. The event is for Year 7 students, so aged 11/12.

This session is about enabling young people to make their own decisions and to take responsibility for their own lives and communities. These events help students learn a range of attributes to boost employability, develop the personal skills, qualities and attitudes needs to success post-education and prepare them for the world of work. In addition to this, students can gain an in-depth understanding of why integral skills such as resilience, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and independence are important within the workplace.
