About the teacher and students

The event was created by Claire Frater for 50 students at Jarrow School aged Age 15 - 15.

Event description

Business Challenge: Students engaging with employers, working on solutions to real business challenges, promoting employability skills.
We have two days available:
Wednesday 29th June
Thursday 30th June

As part of our work experience week, we are looking for employers who can set our students a real life business challenge linked to your company.

We have two days available:
Wednesday 29th June
Thursday 30th June

The event will involve you coming into school in the morning, presenting your company and the challenge to students. Students will then be split into groups to work on the challenge. (two groups of 11 students approx.)

We would like you to set them a one day challenge, this is an example of how we expect the day to be scheduled:

8.45am - Employer arrival and set up
9am - 9.55am Employer present their business - company overview, roles within company, career routes and challenge
09.55 - 10.10: Break
10.10 - 12.05: Students work on challenge
12.05 - 12.35: Lunch
12.35 - 13.35: Students prepare presentation to employer
13.35 - 14.35: Students present findings / feedback from employer

We would like to give you the option of staying in school and working with students or presenting in the morning, then coming back in the afternoon for presentation and feedback.

If you are interested and can support our school with this event. Please email me direct to discuss:
