Event description

Understanding cybersecurity - Can be online - Dates Flexible

An S2 computing class are keen to understand the world of cybersecurity and how organisations and individuals manage company security and what measures are developed to counter numerous threats. We are looking for someone who has or is currently working as a cybersecurity analyst or advisor who has experience of working to counter data threats to organisations. Students want to gain a comprehensive understand of the role of the expert, what skills they require to work in this field, information on the routes and pathways the individual took to enter the profession, and finally how computing plays a role in their daily job routine.

Ideally we would like someone to visit the school to present live, but are also happy to have this conducted virtually if a live visit is impossible.

Students have an understanding of viruses and encryption protocols, but they lack the scope to see how this is applied within an authentic real world scenario. We hope the expert will be able to provide this real world authenticity.

Alternative Dates/ times:

Thursday 7th 9:30 – 10:20
Friday 8th April 8:40 – 9:30 or 9:30 – 10:20
