Event description

Inspire our students at Bishop Justus Church of England School celebrating diversity day, Friday 22nd April 2022

We are looking for volunteers for virtual/ in-person encounters. We are seeking a range of people who have overcome challenges and are successful in their respective fields, and particularly those from an ethnic background or have a disability.

The main aim of the day is to celebrate diversity in all its forms and celebrate success despite any challenges individuals may face. We ask for a commitment of at least one hour or more of your time to inspire our students and raise their aspirations.

We plan to do this through virtual or in person encounters or perhaps a mix of both. In these unusual times we are not entirely sure which option will be best around the time of the event. We are hopeful it will be in person encounters

Please read more about the event below and get in touch with any questions.

Aim:
We are looking to inspire our students with role models from all sectors, to draw links between learning and the world of work and to support them to make better informed decisions about their futures.

Who:
The day will be for all our students in Years 7 – 13. A variety of programmes will be on offer for the year groups. For instance, a talk to 200 plus Year 10 students in an assembly or a virtual interactive presentation to 200 Year 8 students, across 8 different classrooms.

Please come and inspire our young people considering the vast array of potential careers available to them. This may include showcasing current job opportunities within your local community or explaining the pathways that young people can take to obtain a job within a particular sector i.e. university, college, apprenticeship, or other employability schemes.
