The So To Company Ltd, established in October 2011, is concerned with the design and development of innovative safety-led products for the global baby and nursery market. The company’s first product, Karekot, has been inspired by the Company Director, following the experience of her own baby daughter sustaining minor injuries in a traditional wooden ‘barred cot’. Subsequent research undertaken by the Director, revealed a significant number of serious injuries, and even deaths, caused by traditional cot design. Karekot, which converts from a cot to a toddler bed, seeks to alleviate the dangers inherent in traditional cot design and challenges traditional views of what a cot should look and feel like. Its innovative British design significantly reduces opportunities for babies and toddlers to injure themselves whilst in, what should be, a safe and secure environment. The product will revolutionise the cotbed market, which has been unchallenged by innovative products for some time. The ultimate aim is to ensure babies and toddlers can sleep more safely and soundly.

Green Shoots: Making £5 Grow!
Speakers engaged will have the opportunity to hopefully inspire young people involved with Virgin Money's Make £5 Grow competition. F4S involvement is intended to be part of the launch event, with speakers talking to tutor groups in both years 5 and 6. Subject to the availability of speakers, this event could be broadcast either to individual tutor groups in their form rooms (acting like mentors) or as a full Key Stage in an assembly. Pupils will be about to undertake a project/competition in their PSHE lessons during the final summer term. The talk is intended to help pupils appreciate our school values of Respect. Engage and Aspire and how our speakers may have benefitted from these in their life experiences. If there was an opportunity for individual speakers to support a tutor group each (8 groups in total), I would be very keen to try and coordinate this, so that they revisit the group following an initial launch, after pupils have developed a business idea, so they can give feedback to pupils on these pitches.
