Event description

Inspiring Futures - Careers Day 2022

We are excited to relaunch our Careers Day on Thursday 24 March 2022. This is by far the largest event of its type in our local area and is an amazing opportunity for hundreds of students from both Sir John Lawes and our neighbouring partner schools, and we would very much like to invite you to deliver a talk and/or run a stand on the day.

The students who attend the event have an increasing appetite for information on routes into employment. This will be the sixth year of this event and each time the day surpasses all our expectations with more employers than ever becoming involved, and the diversity of sectors represented continuing to grow. Students utilise the day to not only learn about your firm and the opportunities you offer, but also to secure invaluable work experience and build contacts for their futures. The support given by employers like yourself really does make a difference to the futures of our students.

The day itself is split into two parts – the morning is a carousel of careers talks with employers delivering one or more 30 minute sessions, between 9am and 12.30pm, aimed at our Year 12 students (talks will usually cover information about the firm, the presenter’s experience, routes into the field/opportunities/qualifications etc). The afternoon takes the form of a Careers Fair, with employers having a stand and talking to students informally, between 1pm and 3pm. This is aimed at Year 12 and 13 from our school and 4 neighbouring schools as well as our own Year 10 students.

We do really appreciate the opportunity of working with you and I look forward to hearing from you.
