Event description

This will be the sixth in a series of 30 min MENTORING sessions with 12-18yr old students . This session will be focused on product design

UCL Academy has created a mentoring programme that aims to give students the unique opportunity to work in teams and experience an authentic challenge by working with experienced successful business leaders and entrepreneurs on real projects.

By offering 30 minutes of your time as a mentor you will help the students gain experience that complements their academic and personal development in areas such as leadership, teamwork, resilience and meeting deadlines as well as running all aspects of a company and turning an idea to reality.

Two groups (of 36 students) of 12 - 18 year old students will come up with an idea for a product (digital or physical) , develop it and present it to key stakeholders (parents, teachers, mentors etc) at the end of the programme.

School tutors will be at hand to facilitate the sessions and ensure that the programme progresses and deliverables are ready for next week.
This is the SIXTH session and it is all about creating product design and finalising specifications

As a mentor you will discuss best practice and methodologies in product design and help the students understand what they need to think about when designing their products (user experience, marketing considerations, research they might need to do etc.) You can bring examples and templates or suggest further reading or simply share your experience and knowledge.

The session is to start at 10.40 and end at 11.10
