Event description

Spotlight on Careers with Digital Skills
***This event will take place online using MSTeams***

As most types of jobs adopt digital technologies, there is an increase in demand for digital literacy among employees. Workers across a range of occupations will need ICT skills as part of their daily work.

Speakers with a background in Digital Technologies will share their experience, and help young people understand what is needed to succeed in this sector and answer any questions they have.

The session will be 30 minutes long, and we are looking for 2 speakers to provide a 10minute presentation which will be followed by a Q&A.

They are a great way for you to showcase your company and industry to the future workforce and shape the choices of young people.

In this session, we want Speakers to share insights, lessons, and tips to motivate and inspire pupils to make informed decisions about their future. We want you to tell your story about you career journey:
- What you do
- What inspired you to choose your career path and why it was a good fit for you
- The sorts of skills you use most in your job: as well as the technical skills you use, we’re particularly interested that young people hear about the ‘human skills’ you use in your job (e.g. communication skills, collaboration, problem solving, creativity, team working)
- The people that have supported your career journey
- Subjects you studied and how these are relevant now
- Your successes, as well as times where you didn't achieve what you set out to and what you learned from the experience
This will be followed by a Q&A session.
