About the teacher and students

The event was created by Angie Patterson for 350 students at Monkseaton High School aged Age 15 - 16.

Event description

Help to prepare students for interview, allow them to understand the recruitment process and to introduce them to new careers.

350 year 11 students will be taking part in a mock interview event at St James’ Park, Newcastle.
Employers will spend around 15 minutes interviewing students using a set of generic questions which will be provided. Once the interview is finished, a feedback form will need to be completed and you will then spend a few minutes providing the students with constructive feedback.

Prior to the event we will ask you to send a job description so that the students can 'apply' for a specific role and imitate the whole recruitment process as closely as possible.

The sessions prove to be an enjoyable and useful experience for both students and employers and these events are also great at raising a company and career profile amongst the students as well as providing an invaluable and meaningful experience for the young people.

The event is on Friday 7th January. We're asking ambassadors to arrive by 8.30am and the event will finish by 4.15pm.
The event will be delivered in line with the venue and school risk assessments and Covid 19 secure guidelines will be followed. If a copy of the risk assessment is required by an employer, this can be sent in advance.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
