Event description

Inspire our pupils in STEM

We are looking for speakers to come into the class room and speak to our Primary 7 class about their experiences from their careers and the sectors they work in to highlight what STEM elements there are and the kinds of jobs that your companies have that require STEM subjects.

If your company has a focus on sustainability , please highlight this to pupils.

Logans Primary School in Motherwell are holding their STEM week from 16th-19th November. As this is the week after COP26 in Glasgow, visitors from a range of organisations will be discussing climate change and sustainability with learners, however there will also be activities designed to engage children in all aspects of STEM.

"In this session, business volunteers will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:

• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now

• What inspired them to choose their career path

• Their failures, as well as successes

• What their company does and why this is important

• What they enjoy most about their career

• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now."
