About the teacher and students

The event was created by Alysia Haughton-Nicholls for 100 students at Harris Academy Sutton aged Age 14 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students. Speed Careers networking event with Year 9 and 10 students.

Bringing sectors and jobs to life and inspire young people to consider their career options and raise aspirations through offering real insight regarding daily duties of a specific job or talking about a day in the life in a particular sector. Can include showing and explaining the specific skills required in a given industry to give valuable insight into young people considering a career option.

We have four 1 hour sessions of speed networking. Speaking to students in groups of 3-5 for 5-10minutes. The first session is from 8.30-10.30am with Year 9 students and the second session is 10.55am-12.55pm with Year 10 students. Year 9 will be choosing their GCSE options so this event will help them make informed decisions about their GCSE subjects they wish to study. Year 10 began studying their GCSE subjects this academic year and will need to start thinking about A Levels, an apprenticeship etc and their next steps.

Our students are very polite and eager to learn. I'm confident this will be rewarding for you and impactful for the students.
