About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Yxefdtilwtgcszvctnfcqe for 75 students at The UCL Academy aged Age 11 - 16.

Event description

This will be the fourth in a series of 30min MENTORING sessions with 12-18yr old students. At this session students will need help in finalising the idea they will work on.

UCL Academy has created a mentoring programme that aims to give students the unique opportunity to work in teams and experience an authentic challenge by working with experienced successful business leaders and entrepreneurs on real projects.

By offering 30 minutes of your time as a mentor you will help the students gain experience that complements their academic and personal development in areas such as leadership, teamwork, resilience and meeting deadlines as well as running all aspects of a company and turning an idea to reality.

Two groups (of 36 students) of 12 - 18 year old students will come up with an idea for a product (digital or physical) , develop it and present it to key stakeholders (parents, Founders4Schools, mentors etc) at the end of the programme.
School tutors will be at hand to facilitate the sessions and ensure that the programme progresses and deliverables are ready for next week.

In this session, the students will present their ideas to the mentor and they to help with best practice in creating the product specification. The mentors are to provide templates and useful reading material for students to use outside of school time in preparation for the following week's session where the students will work further on their product specification (tech and design).

The session is to start at 10.40 and end 11.10.
