Event description

Humanities: Where can it take you?
***This session will take place online using MSTEAMS***

This session is designed to inspire young people across the UK in their future career path. Attendees will be aged 14 & 15 and about to choose which subjects to take at exam level.

These sessions will help them to think about what career the subjects they are studying can lead to and will increase their knowledge on future pathways.

Humanities offer a diverse subject range with many disciplines available to young people and we want speakers who have studied these at school to tell young people about how they have shaped their career.

The sessions will be 30 minutes long, and we are looking for 2 speakers to provide a 10-15minute presentation which will be followed by a Q&A.

They are a great way for you to showcase your company and industry to the future workforce and shape the choices of young people.

In this session, we want Speakers to share insights, lessons, and tips to motivate and inspire pupils to make informed decisions about their future. We want you to tell your story about you career journey:
- What you do
- What inspired you to choose your career path and why it was a good fit for you
- The sorts of skills you use most in your job: as well as the technical skills you use, we’re particularly interested that young people hear about the ‘human skills’ you use in your job (e.g. communication skills, collaboration, problem solving, creativity, team working)
- The people that have supported your career journey
- Subjects you studied and how these are relevant now
- Your successes, as well as times where you didn't achieve what you set out to and what you learned from the experience
This will be followed by a Q&A session.
