About the teacher and students

The event was created by Yxefdtilwtgcszvctnfcqe for 75 students at The UCL Academy aged Age 11 - 18.

Event description

This will be the third in a series of 30min MENTORING sessions with 12-18yr old students . The focus of this session is 'Research into viable product ideas'

UCL Academy has created a mentoring programme that aims to give students the unique opportunity to work in teams and experience an authentic challenge by working with experienced successful business leaders and entrepreneurs on real projects.
By offering 30 minutes of your time as a mentor you will help the students gain experience that complements their academic and personal development in areas such as leadership, teamwork, resilience and meeting deadlines as well as running all aspects of a company and turning an idea to reality.
Two groups (of 36 students) of 12 - 18 year old students will come up with an idea for a product (digital or physical) , develop it and present it to key stakeholders (parents, Founders4Schools, mentors etc) at the end of the programme.

School tutors will be at hand to facilitate the sessions and ensure that the programme progresses and deliverables are ready for next week.

This is the THIRD session and it is all about researching the initial idea.

As a mentor you will help with research best practice, suggest reading material or other resources for the students to consider as they develop their ideas in preparation for the 4th session where they will finalise their ideas and start drawing the plan for their next steps.
The session is to start at 10.40 and end 11.10.
