Event description

How maths can save the world

This is an online event, held in partnership with Pioneer

17 Global Goals, with the power to create a better world by 2030, by ending poverty, fighting inequality and addressing the urgency of climate change. It is up to all of us to work together to build a better future for everyone.

Join us online at this live event to meet the people who are using maths to do just that.

You will share how your job makes a difference, how you use maths, and how you got there. You'll speak for about 10 minutes, then answer questions from the viewers.

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
