I am the CEO and co-founder of ClearPeople, an award-winning technology company. I have worked in technology for over 20 years in a variety of roles but I had no formal background in STEM subjects. I am also the mother of two lovely teenage boys.

The event was created by S T for 200 students at Dr Challoner's High School aged Age 11 - 12.
Introduction to careers- raising aspirations
Thank you ever so much for being volunteers at Founders for Schools.
We are looking for volunteers for a virtual presentation to Year 7 at Dr Challoner's High School on the 30th June/1st July.
First and foremost, I wanted to share the below slots that are available on those dates (1 slot per persenter):
30th June:
8.50-9.50
10.00-11.00
13.35-14.30
14.35-15.35
1st July
10.00-11.00
Just to give you a brief outline of what we are looking for:
Year 7 have been a very unfortunate group in that they missed out on a proper send off when they finished Primary school (due to the pandemic) and just having started Secondary school spent a lot of time home schooling!
What we want to try and achieve with this 55 mins session it to raise career aspirations:
Topic: Introduction to Careers and how school helped me with my career
How School Helps Build Your Future Career
Suggested format (but totally flexible!)
- Intro
- What did you do at school (A Levels etc)
- What was your path after school (University/College/Apprenticeship). How was that?
- How did you immerse yourself into the world of work (Graduate programme? Weekend work? Etc)
- What has been your employment journey and how do you use your learnings from school (specific subjects/impactful teachers; etc.)
- What advice would you give to your 12 year-old self? What advice would you share to our pupils?
- Q&A
Is this something that you can help with?
I would be most grateful if you could let me know!
Thank you ever so much for wanting to inspire our young pupils at such an unusual time for them!
Very much appreciated.
