Event description

Inspiring & Shaping a Sustainable Future

This year, Glasgow hosts the United Nations Conference on Climate Change. Over 200 world leaders & people of influence will attend to discuss priorities & actions relating to the Paris Agreement. LFS is an entitlement that all young people have within Scotland & is part of the GTC Standards. We want young people across West Lothian to have a sound understanding of the importance of leading sustainable lives now & in the future.

One of our education initiatives is to host an online launch event where we would like companies or organisations to speak about:
* how they are working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
*the importance living & working sustainably has for everyone
*changes they have made to help their company become more environmentally friendly

After the event young people in their schools will choose a Goal or several Goals to investigate & take action on.

It may be that being a key speaker at the launch is as far as partner participation goes however it would be great if companies/organisations could support schools in taking some sort of action. This may be seeking your expert industry opinion on their ideas & how they could work. It may be that your company or organisation can help a school take forward an idea such as community growing projects, a circular economy initiative, supporting them with technology skills such as making an interesting Blog or video. The scope for this is wide & your involvement can be as little or as large as you would like it to be.
