Digital Skills - Jobs for the Future
This event will take place on GLOW and presenters require a DBS/Disclosure Scotland check
As most types of jobs adopt digital technologies, there will be an increase in demand for digital literacy among workers .Today, most jobs rely on ICT products and services e.g., cloud computing, software programs, website and ecommerce. Even traditional jobs will require the ability to work with sophisticated computers. Being digitally literate will be a threshold requirement for most jobs. Speakers with a background in Digital Technologies will talk to pupils and share their valuable experience and help pupils understand what is needed to achieve this
In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.
Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
