About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Craig Mcfadzean for 75 students at Lochend Community High School aged Age 13 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students in their Career Choices

I am reaching out to employers and people working in industry who would be keen to deliver virtual Meet the Expert or/and practical sessions that promote careers from a variety of different subject areas.

The purpose of the event would be to help pupils develop their knowledge of professions and think about the different career paths that each subject could lead them to. Through this young people will broaden their knowledge of different career opportunities and the world of work.

The event will be used as part of the school options week where young people are being encouraged to think about their future and pick subjects that will inform future career decisions
In this session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
