Event description

We'd like you to create a 10 minute careers video and answer follow up questions via email or video as you prefer.

Hello,
We'd like to help our students to continue to develop their understanding of the skills they will need for the workplace and the range of opportunities available. Usually we'd invite you in to speak to our students, but currently that isn't possible. So we are asking volunteers to create ten minute videos about their career. You could talk about what a typical day might involve, the skills you need, the route you took into your job, what you enjoy about it, what you'd like to do in the future. You could take us on a video tour of your workplace if that's possible for you. We ask that you wear appropriate dress as if you were visiting the school, and use polite language, that if you are making the video at home you use the living room or kitchen areas, not for example the bedroom. Also many of our students will not understand business jargon, even commonplace words such as HR. This shouldn't necessarily mean don't use jargon, just explain it and don't introduce too much at once..
It's important that students get a chance to get their questions answered, so we'd like you to respond to some questions they will send through via myself. You can do this either over email or by video, whichever you prefer.
