Event description

Inspire our students

A successful business leader can inspire a group of students by talking in-depth about the journey they took from school through their career. This format usually includes one business leader talking for an extended period of time.

Speakers Profile:

Hugh Campbell - Founder, GP Bullhound. Hugh founded GP Bullhound with Manish Madhvani, Per Roman and Christian Lagerling and he specializes in investing and advising technology and digital media companies.

Hugh has a mixture of traditional City and entrepreneurial experience. After starting his career at Citibank in Mergers and Acquisitions, Hugh moved to Goldman Sachs where worked in Equity Research. He was part of a two-man team ranked by Reuters in 1998 and 1999 as the number one research team in Europe and was involved in the merger of Daimler Benz and Chrysler.

In early 2000 Hugh left Goldman Sachs and founded a digital marketing company working in China.

The event will be Moderated by Sherry Coutu, CBE, executive chair and founder of Founder4Schools as well as a successful serial entrepreneur and board member of organisations including Raspberry Pi and the London Stock Exchange.

A business leader can ‘tell a story’ about their career journey:
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Why they find it high impact
• What they enjoy most about their career
• What subjects did the study and what decisions did they make along the way
• What mistakes did they make and how did they learn from them
• What skills is their company currently looking for in their new hires

As the Keynote Career speech generally have less business leaders, the speakers can offer a more focussed, in-depth and comprehensive discussion. They will take students through their entire journey and reflect on their successes and failures in the world of employment. There will also be a Q&A session so that students can ask their own questions.

These meaningful encounters inspire students and have a positive impact on their future life choices.
