The event was created by Kathleen O'Neill for 75 students at Dixons Fazakerley Academy aged Age 13 - 16.
Career Talk - Digital Technologies
Cameron Lepper is an inspiring role model with a background in Digital Technology and is sure to persuade students wavering about their career choice to pursuing a career in the sector.
This will be a focused event from which young people can gain information about the skills, knowledge and qualifications required by the sector. It aims to open up new possibilities, and validate aspirations, and have a significant impact on young people.
Cameron will share insights, career guidance, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire students to make informed decisions about their future.
Cameron will tell you:
- What inspired him to choose his career path
- Subjects he studied and how these are relevant now
- His successes, as well as times where he didn't achieve wha the set out to and what he learned
- What his company does and why this is important
- What he enjoys most about your career
- Skills he has learned that are relevant in the jobs he is doing now.
This will be followed by a Q&A session where students are able to ask a variety of questions.
How will Students Benefit?
Career Talks allow students to hear from real-life role models who can demonstrate the relevance and connection of what is taught in the classroom - because they are creating the jobs right now!
They also allow students to gain an understanding of what different careers actually entail, while bringing the curriculum to life.
The goal of Career Talks is to equip students with the inspiration and information to make better-informed decisions about their future career paths.
