The event was created by Anca Ionescu for 150 students at Dixons Fazakerley Academy aged Age 12 - 13.
Speakers Profile:
Rachel Strother - She works as a Director at Dixon Wilson Chartered Accountants. She is a qualified accountant and tax advisor with a specialism in VAT. She joined the firm after studying languages at university and embarked on the ACA training programme. It's a three-year course of exams, professional development and client work which sets you up to qualify as a chartered accountant at the end. She remained with the firm, undertook specialist tax exams, was promoted to manager, senior manager and then director. She is also part of the HR committee and now oversee the training programme which she originally joined under!
Tory Hyndman - Partner at Charta Partners. Her 25-year executive search career has always focused on investment management. She was initially based in Hong Kong and later moved to London where she joined Heidrick & Struggles as a member of the Global Asset Management practice. She joined David Barrett Partners in 2009 to establish and lead the London office and wider EMEA business. In January 2020 she joined Charta Partners.
The event will be Moderated by Neelam Jagait, Community Engagement Manager at Founders4Schools, helping connect young people with inspiring role models from local communities to help raise aspirations. She is also a former teacher of Sociology and Psychology in Further Education.

These events help students learn about a range of attributes to boost employability, to develop enterprise opportunities and to prepare for the world of work.
In addition to this, students will gain an in-depth understanding of why skills such as resilience, conflict resolution, communication and independence are important within the workplace.
