About the Business Leaders

These business leaders have been chosen because their companies are growing quickly. Combined they employ 3+ people.

About the teacher and students

The event was created by Kelly Davies for 150 students at Witton Park Academy aged Age 13 - 15.

Event description

We need some inspiration and new experiences from the working world to explain and motivate our students with regards to language learning.

We would like a presentation to our students to inspire and give an insight into how Languages can give you the edge and lead to more opportunities in life;

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey following their own language learning experiences:
• Subjects they studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.
Relate skills and knowledge to our Pixl Edge LORIC principles;
L- Leadership
O - Organisation
R-Resilience
I-Initiative
C-Communication
This is a concept all students follow across the school and record in their own online portfolio evidence to complete different levels to show they have the LORIC principles (employability skills) on leaving Witton Park Academy.
