The event was created by Anca Ionescu for 150 students at Dixons Fazakerley Academy aged Age 12 - 13.

Event description

Join our interactive online event where inspirational leaders from the world of business share their unique career journey. By sharing insights, career guidance, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire we hope to support young people to make informed decisions about their future.

Similar to a TED Talk, speakers will share their career journey for 8 - 10 minutes, followed by a lively Q&A session where students can ask questions online.

Speakers Profile:
Yasmin Desai - Senior Product Manager. Her passion lies in start-ups and tech. She has spent her professional career working in several start-up companies in London and have loved every part of it! She has also started her own company which was started through a grant given by her university.

Alexandra Hussenot - Founder & CEO of Immersion, the 1st Virtual Reality Discovery Engine.

The event will be Moderated by Neelam Jagait, Community Engagement Manager at Founders4Schools, helping connect young people with inspiring role models from local communities to help raise aspirations. She is also a former teacher of Sociology and Psychology in Further Education.

Age Appropriacy: This type of event is appropriate for any student aged 5 through 24, but has been designed for students aged between 12 and 13. Refer to our white paper pages 10 and 11 for more details. This white paper summarizes more than 100 externally validated research papers on career pathways for students.
