About the teacher and students

The event was created by Mary Henshaw for 200 students at St Damian's RC Science College aged Age 13 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students to have high aspirations, value their education, believe that with hard work they can achieve

We are putting on a special 'National Careers Week' [2nd-6th March 2020] to enable pupils to have an insight into a variety of careers. T

here are 165 pupils in Y9 who will be seated in rows in the assembly hall. A talk of 25-30 minutes & then an activity pupils could do with their teachers.

Please give a talk to describe your career journey:
• Subjects you studied and how these are relevant now
• What inspired you to choose your career path
• Failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What you enjoy most about your career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs you are doing now

A presentation with slides / short video / interactive activity would work well.

I am very happy to come up with ideas to ensure pupils make the most of their encounter. If you would be able to attend, please let me know by 21st February 2020 so I can finalise the timetable. Many thanks
