The event was created by Suzanne Lockwood for 150 students at Great Academy Ashton aged Age 13 - 14.

Event description

Inspire our students at Great Academy Ashton who are taking part in a "Learn to Earn" careers programme

Enterprise Activities are an interactive way for young people to develop their employability and enterprise skills. They also help to raise young people’s self-awareness of their own enterprise capabilities and their business and economic understanding.

Year 9 will plan their Dream Lifestyle and budget for it, they will then consider what success really means to them and what their own strengths are. They will take part in activities to learn about different pathways to their dream job (apprenticeship, HE, employment, etc.) and do a reality budget based on their chosen career starting salary.

Some topics we may ask you to speak to the group about include:
• What job, career and education route you have taken
• What your company does
• Something you learnt at school which you use in your current or a past role. What subjects did you study as part of your education and which you were most passionate about? How do subjects you studied help you today?
• What do you enjoy most about your career? What are your passions?
• What do you wish you had known when you were their age?
• The skills most valued in your workplace? What skills are you looking for?
