Career Event St Mungo's Academy - To inform & inspire our pupils to help them make informative choices when choosing their subjects.
My name is Alba Wilkinson. I am the Developing Young Workforce Officer at St Mungo’s Academy in Glasgow. In collaboration with colleagues from our feeder primaries we have been conducting research into what the key skills are needed to be successful in Life, Learning and Work. Using this research we will create a Skills Framework for our school which will ensure that all our pupils are able to see how these skills link to their future career pathways. As part of this body of work the young people at St Mungo’s Academy and our feeder primaries were asked to complete a careers and aspiration form to highlight which career sectors they were interested in and we are using this data to host our very own Career Fair!
Our research has highlighted that our young people are extremely interested in your sector and we would love to invite you to come along to St Mungo’s Academy on:
Tuesday 18th February 2020 09:00 – 16:00
Our Primary 7 pupils will also be coming up to join our S2 - S6 on the day to take part and they are really excited as for many of these young people this will be their first ever Career Fair. This is an extremely important event as it will help our young people who are in the process of picking their subjects for next year to make informative choices as well as providing our senior phase pupils will valuable information on their chosen career pathways. Full lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day for everyone who is taking part.
