About the teacher and students

The event was created by Janet Douglas for 150 students at Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School aged Age 14 - 15.

Event description

Maths4Girls to encourage our students in the top maths sets to continue with Maths until A Level. You will meet 4 different classes. Th event will be held in the school hall. Please can you arrive by 8.30. The Head of Maths and Careers Coordinator are running the event.

In this 1 hour session, business leaders will share insights, lessons and tips to motivate and inspire your students to make informed decisions about their future.

Speakers will ‘tell a story’ about their career journey (up to 10mins):
• How maths played a part and how maths is relevant now
• What inspired them to choose their career path
• Their failures, as well as successes
• What their company does and why this is important
• What they enjoy most about their career
• Skills currently relevant in the jobs they are doing now.

Q&As will follow to end the session.
